Whether we like it or not, the seasons have changed once again and fall is upon us. Forget about frosty mornings and naked trees, I choose to look at the bright side of things…the return of Pumpkin Ale!
That’s right, some delicious seasonal beers are back on the shelves and one of my favourites is the St.Ambroise Pumpkin Ale. Brewed by the Brasserie McAuslan brewery in Montreal, Quebec, this seasonal ale is simply delicious. A rich golden/amber in colour, the nose displays aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and of course…pumpkin pie. The palate has just the right balance of rich malt and refreshing hops, with the warm notes of spice carrying through the smooth finish. Unlike some fruit/spiced beers on the market, this little gem is complex and expressive without seeming fake or overpowering.
Although not necessarily the kind of beer you could down a 6-pack of watching Sunday football, this delicious just makes you feel warm and cozy inside. Truly fall in a bottle.
Last year this tasty treat sold out quickly, so get yours while supplies last.
